HOW TO USE CEILING ROSES IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS
Personally, I love the distinctive classiness a ceiling rose carries with it in a home or a building.
Very common in antique environments such as colonial houses or the Victorian era, ceiling roses are a unique piece of elegance giving an impressive statement in a subtle way.
Originally made to enhance a very dramatic chandelier centre piece, ceiling roses are an understatement in today's modern contemporary style.
Creativity is key. The word 'Ceiling' can simply be overlooked, and the many possibilities for this fantastic architectural piece, suddenly start shinning through.
It is well known that in today's modern renovation projects, old houses that possess good antique ceiling roses will remove them from the structure of the house. This is a good thing for bargain hunters like myself, who are constantly looking for a cheaper alternative to renovation materials.
Here comes Gumtree. The site will always have ceiling roses available for sale for secondhand use. Mostly rescued from a renovation project or a complete tear down. It is the price that is attractive and even those in an impeccable condition will be a third of the price of a brand new ceiling rose in today's building market.
I bought mine for $25.00 each and they were in great condition as you can tell in the pictures.
The rest of the materials were not costly, as I only spent money on the MDF and the pine wood frame. Al together, the expenses totaled to only $60.00 and it took me only half a day to complete.

The end result? Well, an elegant piece of art and a very well dressed 'man hole'.
