HOW TO REFURBISH A DRINK TROLLEY

Drink trolleys are elegant and convenient.

Vintage trolleys have always been on trend, it seems. Mainly because they've never really been 'out'. It is a classic design and style that will rarely go out of fashion.

I have always wanted to have one in my home, however having to spend $300 plus, on a new one was never on my radar.

My number one rule, when you are looking for a specific furniture piece, keep a list of three things that you wouldn't mind buying on the spot, should they suddenly become available.

This was the case for me with this trolley. Although I wasn't browsing for one, as soon as I saw the ad, I knew I had to buy it. I was in my list of 'threes' after all.

The price was $20 and although it was a bit rusty when I picked up, the vintage look of the trolley, kind of forgives the lack of maintenance from the previous owners.

I'm pretty happy with the find and because I have recycled products from previous projects, my final cost was exactly that, $20.00.

Finding a gem might be easier than you think. Keep your mind focused on the price and suddenly you will exactly what you've been looking for. Even if it's a bit rusty.

A simple and quick idea of how to make a small furniture piece look 'newer' and refurbished, and using left over materials from other projects. Tiles are flexible, durable and will add a bit of 'freshness' to any project.

With this project, it was all about adding a modern twist to a vintage design.
